Darcie and I are going to be printing up some new GiantSquid tshirts this weekend. There’s 2 designs, and I’ve got both mens and womens shirts. They’re American Apparel 50 50 shirts, and they run just a touch bigger than the traditional AA tshirt. My awesome squid illustration was done way back when by the infamous Neil Fasen.

The user sees a sensor output on the screen in front of him, then thinks about which direction he would like the chair to go. The sensors on the users head pick up the brain wave activity and translate it into movement in the wheel chair in less than a 1/10 of second.

Say what you will about the appropriation of imagery – the dude can paint. He can create. It’s not all stolen scans, and co-opted revolutionary art. The dude got his start cutting out stencils, and throwing up stickers. It’s apparent that all the fame, and the massive aesthetic apparatus that he’s built hasn’t watered down his ability to create some beautiful and unique imagery.

Christmas has come early for me. Adhemas Batista is absolutely one of my favorite illustrators, and he’s updated his site with some beautiful new work. He’s added a couple photos to the about section, and it appears that he has set up shop in Los Angeles with a new studio called Magenta. Hopefully that means we’ll be seeing a lot more work out of him.

I spend all day every day looking at super glossy digital bullshit. This is where it’s really at. Check out these organic, beautiful, multimedia collages done by Robert Mars. He says his work is a chronicle of America. If you look through his portfolio you’ll see an interesting hodgepodge of 60’s and 70’s ephemera worked into the layers of his paintings.
